The I.R.S will begin accepting and processing tax returns on Feb.12. Tax season usually begins late January.
Why so late?
The agency is taking time to do additional programming and testing of it’s systems.
This will hopefully ensure that there will not be a delay issuing refunds due to tax law changes.
